Are you expecting a baby and want to experience a safer, more comfortable serene birth - where you feel in control?

Maybe you are a first time expectant mother, worried about how you are going to handle the birth.  Or a second/third time expectant mother who wants to experience a better birth than the previous one   Maybe you are fairly confident but would like to empower yourself even more.  Perhaps you have heard of various kinds of ‘natural childbirth’ and would like to know more about HYPNOBIRTHING – IT’S RAPIDLY TAKING THE BIRTHING WORLD BY STORM ALL OVER THE WORLD so that you can have the birth you want!

And now available in Devon

You can work with me on your own, with your partner, with other women in a group or a class with several couples but no more than eight people at a time.

So please phone me and I can tell you about my current classes.

About Hypnobirthing

The HypnoBirthing Programme was developed in 1989 by Marie Mongan and is based on the work of English obstetrician, Dr. Grantly Dick-Read, the father of ‘natural childbirth’

The HypnoBirthing method is a rewarding, relaxing, stress-free way of giving birth at home, or in hospital, that teaches a mother and her birthing partner the art and joy of experiencing birth in an easier, more comfortable, safer and sometimes pain-free way.

Unlike other methods of natural childbirth, HypnoBirthing utilises the latest
mind-body techniques, including self hypnosis, relaxation, visualisation, fear releasing and special breathing techniques, so that your body can work with
complete neuromuscular harmony as it was designed for.

When you are free of fear, your body is free of pain-causing tension and will
work more effectively, so that labour is shorter, fatigue and stress are eliminated and medical intervention is minimised.   You will gain an understanding of the physiology of labour that goes beyond what is usually taught in other classes so that you will understand how your body works.

'Having worked as a doctor on the labour ward for
several years, I was naturally anxious about my own
pregnancy and birth.  Hypno birthing really helped me
to relax and remain positive and the techniques were
brilliant for helping me fall asleep easily during my
third trimester.  When I went into labour, the breathing
and visualisation exercises were invaluable and,
although I ended up  having an emergency C Section, I felt calm throughout.  Hypno birthing has helped me
every step of the way, through pregnancy, labour and now looking after my lovely chilled out hypnobaby.'

‘Hypno birthing was a personal achievement
of which I feel proud.  It was an incredible feat
of mind over matter and a wonderful calm event
for my partner to be involved with and witness.
It was a gently, easy way for my second baby to
be born (the first time was a C-section) and
perhaps contributes to his contented nature.  It
was simply one of the best days of my life and
possibly the ultimate female experience!

I don’t think I am superhuman or not in touch with
my body or emotions but somewhere along the line
I had lost the instinct to give birth.  Hypno birthing
gave me that back and, to anyone embarking on one
of Diana’s courses, I would say take a leap of faith,
trust your body and practice everything you are
introduced to until it is second nature and you too
may have a story to tell!

Thank you, Diana, for your expertise, encouragement
and belief.’

Dr. H.A., General Practitioner, Exeter

Joan, an expectant mother, recently contacted me feeling depressed and anxious about the impending birth and, of course she had to face it – there was no running away!  After attending a hypno birthing course with her partner she became more confident in her abilities to affect the outcome, more relaxed and confident and couldn’t wait for the birth to happen.  She went on to have the birth she desired.

How do I get to learn Hypno birthing?

You can attend four classes, which last approximately two and a half hours, from about 25 weeks of pregnancy and spread out over several weeks.

If this is the way you would like to experience birth and you want to feel confident and in control contact me now and we can have a chat and I can let you know about future classes, other options and fees so that you can acquire these powerful skills.

Invest in what is going to be one of the most important experiences of your life
